Social capability and economic growth

Documentation for socdev.csv

This data set, when combined with the Mankiw-Romer-Weil data, should allow replication of the main results in the paper. If you replicate the results, or have trouble doing so, please let me know. A more complete version of the data set will be released in due course.

The variables are as follows:

MRWNO	      The identifier given to each country
		by Mankiw, Romer and Weil (1992) (MRW).
SOCDEV	The Adelman-Morris (1967) social development index.
COMMS		The Adelman-Morris (1967) communications index.
